Last month I was asked to perform comedy magic for a benefit night in Watford to raise money for Christina Aid. Although I sit firmly on the fence when it comes to religion, well perhaps slightly one side, it is a very worthy cause.
Julie Carpenter put together an excellent evening of magic and comedy. It was great to be working with Fay, Ian, and Julie. I spent many years living in Watford and had performed at this particular church hall many times.
It was incredibly well received and such a joy to be a part of. Cabaret magic is my greatest passion and to perform on such a bill was wonderful. Great performances from Julie and Ian. Fay made a wonderful MC.
Here are some of the comments we got.
“Well done ladies and gentlemen. Fab evening. Even my hubby was impressed and doesn’t happen often. Brilliant. X”
“Last night Fay Tim Shoesmith and Ian Manly helped me put on a show ( close-up magic and stage ) for Christian Aid. No idea how much money was raised yet but for me what mattered most was to have the opportunity to work on stage with some wonderful performers who are my best friends.”
“Fab evening and very generous of you all giving us the benefit of your time and talents -thank you xx”
“All your efforts were very much appreciated. A great magical evening.”
“This night was the way it should be, four performers sharing the pleasure of working together, sharing an audience, and a space. Julie Carpenter pulled a lovely show together on a non-existent budget. A joy and a pleasure to be a part of it.
Tim Shoesmith is so very very good, Somebody should snatch him up and put him to serious comedy work!”
